Spring Plant Sale

Saturday, April 11 | 9 AM – Noon

Join us for Goodwood’s Spring Plant Sale on April 11th from 9 am-Noon, a must-visit event for plant lovers of all kinds! 

This sale will feature a beautiful selection of heirloom and Florida-friendly plants, perfect for adding charm and resilience to your garden. Yes, we will be selling roses this year!

In addition to plants, a variety of vendors will be on-site, including a coffee truck and art vendors!

Goodwood members will receive early access at 8:30 AM, giving them the first pick of the best plants before the general public arrives.

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting, this event is a fantastic opportunity to learn, shop, and connect with fellow plant enthusiasts.

Ice Cream Social: A Family Fun Day

April 12 | 3-5 PM | Front Lawn

Cool off with a sweet treat at the Ice Cream Social, a completely free fun-filled event for the whole family! Guests of all ages can enjoy a delicious ice cream bar, cookies, and refreshing lemonade while spending time in a welcoming, community-centered atmosphere.

There will be plenty of activities and crafts from local nonprofits and cultural groups, including:

-Live music from The Safari Man, a local performer of children’s music
-Interactions with local firefighters
-Farm animal interactions with SandyLand Farmstays
-Making seed bombs with Master Gardeners from the UF/IFAS Extension Leon County
-Touch trays of marine life from the Gulf Specimen Marine Lab
-and more!

All interactions, activities, and tasty treats will be available to kids and their families at no cost.

 

Wonderful Wednesday: Del Suggs

Wednesday, April 15 | 6-8 PM | Roller Rink

Join us for Wonderful Wednesday at Goodwood Museum & Gardens featuring live music from Del Suggs!

Del is considered by many to be one of the founders and pioneers of “Trop Rock” (tropical rock) music. This popular genre is rightfully credited to Jimmy Buffett. Del began to perform in a similar style which he called “Saltwater Music,” drawing on his experiences growing up along the Gulf Coast in Panama City, Florida.

Enjoy beer and wine from the Goodwood concession stand, plus delicious bites from Damas Café and a local food truck while you soak in live music beneath Goodwood’s historic oaks.

Tickets: $5 | Free for Goodwood Members | Free for kids age 15 and under

Outdoor Headphone Yoga

Fridays, 10:00 – 11:15 AM

Tune in and flow out with Outdoor Yoga Tallahassee at Goodwood’s Sunken Garden. Yoga instructors Caulley Soto and Danielle Miller will guide you through a 75-minute music-infused vinyasa class focusing on breath and mindful movement — in an effort to stretch and strengthen both the physical and mental self. Grab one of the provided headsets, spread out and find your perfect outdoor space, enjoying this unique and immersive experience.

Class is limited to 23 participants at $20/per person.

Virtual Super Gentle Chair Yoga

Mondays | 4:30 – 5:30 PM | Virtual

Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done sitting in a chair or standing on the ground using the chair for support.
In this 50-minute virtual class, traditional focused breathing techniques and meditation are practiced with modified yoga movements and sequences helping to reduce stress, increase range of motion, and develop strength and flexibility.

You will not need to get on the floor in this class.

Join this super gentle chair yoga class, led by KC Knudsen, from the comfort of your own living space.
First-time virtual participants will need to register to receive the program link.

April 20 & May 18 | 4:30- 5:30 PM | Laundry Cottage

A gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting in a chair or standing, using the chair for support. In this 50-minute virtual class, traditional focused breathing techniques and meditation are practiced with modified yoga movements and sequences helping to reduce stress, increase range of motion, and develop strength and flexibility.

You will not need to get on the floor in this class.

Join this Chair Yoga class, led by KC Knudsen, either in person OR from the comfort of your own living space. First-time virtual participants will need to register below to receive the Zoom program link $5 donations are requested.

Joanna Francis Living Well Support Group

First Mondays of each Month
6:00 – 7:00 PM

On the first Monday of the month (except holidays) Joanna Francis Living Well Breast Cancer support group meets at 6pm in the Jubilee Cottage at Goodwood. Their mission is simply to connect the people who are experiencing any part of the walk with breast cancer. We host a group for general information but also provide personal “survivor matches” to help current patients navigate the many decisions and emotional challenges associated with treatment.
