Information
Goodwood Museum & Gardens is situated on sixteen acres of sprawling lawns,
gardens and centuries old live oaks. In addition to the Main House, there
are thirteen outbuildings, a roller rink and reflecting pool. Goodwood
is located at the corner of Miccosukee Road and Medical Drive, just east
of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and 1.7 miles west of Capital Circle.
The entrance to Goodwood is on Miccosukee Road directly across from Carraway
Street.
Visitors' Center
The Visitors' Center is located in the Old Kitchen, between Jubilee Cottage
and the Main House. It was the original kitchen for the Main House until
Fanny Tiers added a kitchen and Butler's Pantry to the back of the home
in 1911. It now serves as the starting point for museum tours and houses
the Goodwood Gift Shop as well. The gift shop sells specialty items such
as note cards, framed prints, antiques and collectibles, and regional
books. The following books can be purchased based on availability: The
Croom Family and Goodwood Plantation by William W. Rogers
and Erica Clark; The Live Oak Trail by Carolyde Phillips O'Bryan; In
Search of the Aucilla by R.C. Balfour III; and Daffodils in
Florida by Linda Van Beck.
